After calculation of Android usability, the majority of mobile network worldwide, with 47% compared to iOS’s 29%. The entire mobile industry has become the battling ground for Apple, Microsoft and Google with their iOS6, Windows phone and Android operating systems respectively.

Still when it comes to the hardware, Apple’s iPhones are used by a full 29% of all smartphone customers, making them the top manufacturer for yet another quarter. In this, RIM’s Blackberry OS has slowly begun to fade away. There was a time when RIM’s total market share was more than 20% which slowly came down to 17%. Similarly windows phone not able to make a great impact in the smart phone huge market.
Still the question remains the same, who are the leaders? Mobile Technology is a faced paced changing affair. Today if Androids are the market leaders you never know who the next is. Customers intend to use products which fulfill their needs and expectations. So, let’s see who are the next players joining the battle field of mobile OS in the market.

- A higher percentage of Android users are below the age of 34 in comparison to iPhone users
- People between the ages of 25 and 34 are more likely to own a smartphone (62%) than any other age group
- Android users consume more data on a monthly basis (582MB) compared to users of other mobile operating systems
- iPhone users download more apps on a monthly basis (48) when compared to users of other mobile operating systems
