Be Aware, ‘Project Zero’ Can Highlight Your Software Bugs

We all know that internet has made our life better but at the same time it is creating a big security problem for business and user's data. As we know that business are leveraging the power of internet to expand their business globally and provide their service & solutions to users 24X7. In the same manner users are making use of internet to do their most of tasks like banking, shopping, social, communication, etc. We are entering into a world where most of the things will be connected to internet and most of the tasks will be performed by the use of internet.

We know that everything has its pros and cons that affects our life. This internet enabled world opens the opportunity for hackers to hack the sensitive data. Many such cases have been witnessed in 2014 like Heartbleed, eBay cyber-attack, Sony hack, etc.

It opens a biggest security challenge for internet enabled companies and businesses to offer secure environment to their users. To make safe and secure internet enabled world, some of the top internet enabled companies are working in this direction. One of them is Google.

A few months ago Google started spending some of its time on the research work to make the internet safer. With its success and this part-time research work has led to the emergence of a new well-staffed team called Project Zero.

The main objective of Project Zero is to significantly reduce the number of people harmed by targeted attacks. This project is not bounded only for internal use, but it also will work to improve the security of any software depended upon by large numbers of people.

Work related to this project to be kept transparent. In company's own word:

“We commit to doing our work transparently. Every bug we discover will be filed in an external database. We will only report bugs to the software's vendor—and no third parties. Once the bug report becomes public (typically once a patch is available), you'll be able to monitor vendor time-to-fix performance, see any discussion about exploitability, and view historical exploits and crash traces. We also commit to sending bug reports to vendors in as close to real-time as possible, and to working with them to get fixes to users in a reasonable time”.

The latest affair related to Project Zero is Windows flaw. Google just posted a security bulletin concerning weaknesses in the user profile creation process in Windows 8.1, which could allow hackers to take control of a computer. Google had initially told Microsoft about the problem on October 13th. Microsoft blasts Google for revealing Windows flaw days before patch and urge Google to make protection of customers our collective primary goal."

We hope Google’s this initiative will inspire other companies to take steps to make internet safe and secure.

The Future of Connectivity - As Seen At CES 2015 Event

Appropriately titled ‘The Internet of Things’, this year’s CES event hosted over 3,600 vendors, all there to show off how their unique products and technology developments. Amongst them, we’ve compiled a list of the must-see innovations that are driving the future of enterprise and will completely reshape the way we can expect to do business.

On The Go

Nowadays, we’re seeing more and more folks working while on the go and using stationary desktops
in revolutionary ways. The old dynamics of work have changed! Here are some of the standout laptops, desktops and accessories that were present at CES:

Lenovo B50 Touch

We’ve been acquainted with touch screens, but Lenovo’s new laptop has taken it a step further by impressively featuring a 3D camera and gesture control settings. The futuristic laptop is said to make a great video editing workstation and it has practical applications for those in unorthodox work settings, like artists, or contractors, for example.

Zolt

Keeping your laptop charged has never been more important, and with the creation of Zolt, it’s also never been easier! The Zolt charger is four times smaller than the average laptop charger, and it is capable of charging up to three devices at a time.

Dell XPS 13

The portability factor of laptops and the convenience of those who carry them everywhere has not gone unnoticed by Dell. The company unveiled the world’s smallest 13” laptop, which boasts 15 hours of battery life and an innovative borderless infinity display.

Wearables

Wearables have taken tech by storm within recent years, with everyone from Apple to Garmin clamoring to join in on the action. Despite its popularity however, there has been some dissent regarding just how necessary they are. So far, it’s been argued that the current lineup of smartwatches have been little more than glorified pedometers. Even so, the demand and trend is undeniable, and it’s been pushing technology innovators to push hard for a wearable that is useful, as well as comfortable and even fashionable. The implications of achieving such a feat could be tremendous, strengthening our connectivity, thus improving our productivity! We may not be quite there yet, but we’re certainly on our way!

Garmin Vivoactive

Garmin’s first Smartwatch attempt came as a surprise, but a pleasant one! In addition to receiving email and text notifications, Garmin has also integrated their signature GPS capability within the device. That, plus a waterproof shell and a really long battery life will probably make this watch a top contender for adventure seekers and employees of rugged industries.

G Watch R

LG has joined the race with the introduction of their G Watch R. The wearable offers many of the features available in other smartwatches, like standard alerts, fitness tracking and navigation, but it is also distinctly boasting music syncing- an element which only one other competitor (Sony Smartwatch 3) is claiming.

Vibe band VP10

Lenovo’s widely admired Vibe band delivered big in two areas. First, the general consensus is that the watch’s metallic look and design is aesthetically pleasing, and very wearable. Second, the screen features E Ink technology, which reduces glare and makes for a better user experience.

Drones

Now widely available in a dizzying assortment of sizes, shapes and colors, the public has fully embraced the awesomeness that is drones. And while it’s impact on recreation has been astonishing, drones are on track to revolutionize business, as we know it, through delivery, photography, search and rescue…you name it!

AirDog

The appropriately named Air’Dog’ will follow your every move, so long as you wear the corresponding, sensor wristband. Good news for people everywhere who despite their best efforts, are no good at controlling RC gadgets. The potential with AirDog is nearly limitless.

DGI Inspire One

Call it a transformer! This exciting drone actually retracts it’s own legs after becoming airborne, so unobstructed, 360 degree views are possible. The visibility is a huge factor here, because DGI’s equipped camera is stabilized and can shoot 4K video and 12 megapixel photos. Translation? Crisp, clear and beautiful footage and photos.

It’s safe to say that as a society, we’ve reached a high point in mobile connectivity. No matter what time of day, or where it is we’re headed, communication, information and commerce are all just a click away. Technology continues to expound upon that ability- revealing what up-and-coming, connectivity-driven inventions and improvements are in the works for 2015 and beyond!

iPhones and Apps that Revolutionize an Exercise Oldie but Goody

At some point, you’ve probably heard that 10,000 is the magic number of steps you should take per day for optimal health. Truth be told, there is no scientific backing behind that number per se, but it is common knowledge that increasing your physical activity is beneficial for your health.

For years, pedometers have been hailed as a great tool to increase one’s awareness of their exercise (or lack thereof) habits. Besides tracking, it has also served as a great source of motivation-simply increasing the amount of steps taken is an easy goal, and it’s rewarding to watch your number climb.

But as effective as the pedometer was, it, like virtually every other form of digital technology, has been subject to numerous revisions over the years. Those changes ranged from purely cosmetic, to technical upgrades. Today, pedometers have received the glamorous makeover of functioning wearables. Watches and wristbands galore have been unleashed upon us, each claiming to compact the benefits of a traditional pedometer and cutting edge technological advances (Heart rate monitor! Sleep Tracker!) into a stylish new accessory.

The issue with that seemingly great deal though, is that the devices, while revolutionary, still largely seem to be in their infancy in terms of design. Critics are quick to point out the bulky nature of the wrist gear, asserting that the wearables are too uncomfortable, well, to wear.

There is a middle ground however! If you’re interested in a pedometer but not the bulk or price tag of a wearable you may have to look no further than your smartphone. If you’re the owner of an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, your phone comes equipped with Apple’s Health App and you can easily download a great pedometer application, like Pedometer++.

Pedometer++ is simple. It will track your steps, but it’s also sophisticated enough to identify subtleties like changes in elevation, so it will also tell you how many steps you’ve tackled in a day. With the health App, you’ll be able to access all of the latest fitness and well being tools. It can track your heart rate, calories burned, blood sugar and more!

While a wearable device may sound or look flashy, it does bare the burden of being just one more thing you have to carry/manage. These days, most folks have their smartphones on them at all times, so utilizing all of its capabilities is an easy and smart move- for your convenience and also your health!
